SSO Setup with Google Workspace

Learn how to set up SSO with Google Workspace for Dignify Chat

Follow these steps to configure a custom SAML application in Google Workspace:

  1. Navigate to Google Admin: Go to https://admin.google.com/ and log in with your administrator account.
  2. Access apps: In the navigation menu, click on Apps and then select Web and mobile apps.
  3. Start adding the app: Click on Add App and choose Add custom SAML app.
  4. Enter basic information:
    • Enter an App name, for example, "Dignify Chat".
    • Click Continue.
  5. Download metadata: Download the metadata (you need to send this to us). Then click Continue.
  6. Configure Service Provider Details: Fill in the following fields with the correct URLs for your Dignify Chat:
    • ACS URL: https://sb-api.dignify.chat/sso/saml/acs
    • Entity ID: https://sb-api.dignify.chat/sso/saml/metadata
    • Name ID format: Choose PERSISTENT.
    • Name ID: Select Basic Information > Primary email.
    • Click Continue.
  7. Configure attribute mapping: Here you link the Google Workspace user attributes to the attributes your Dignify Chat expects. For each attribute, click on Add mapping and configure as follows:
    • Google Directory attribute: Basic Information > Primary email App attribute: email
    • Google Directory attribute: Basic Information > Primary email App attribute: user_name
    • Google Directory attribute: Basic Information > First name App attribute: first_name
    • Google Directory attribute: Basic Information > Last name App attribute: last_name Click Finish after adding all attributes.
  8. Set up user access:
    • After creating the app, under User access, you will likely see the status "Off for everyone".
    • Click on this and select On for everyone to give your users access.
    • Click Save.
